1) Різниця між значеннями слів cause та reason:

A cause is that which produces an effect, which makes a thing happen. (що є причиною виникнення проблеми,питання, тобто джерело подій,ситуацій).

A reason is a fact which is put forward as a motive or explanation, or in order to justify some conclusion (пояснення причини того, що відбувається/відбулося)

Ex.1, p.146 - complete the sentences with ‘cause’ or ‘reason’ (письмово)

2) Ex.2, p.147 - Group up the words in the box according to the columns below. Розташуй слова у колонки (усно)

Land movement disasters  - катастрофи спричинені рухом суші/землі

Water disasters  - катастрофи водного характеру

Weather disasters - погодні катаклізми

3) Ex.3, p.147 - Complete the text with the words in the box. Прочитай і переклади текст, вставляючи подані слова (усно)

4) ! Grammar 

Умовний спосіб частіше за все зустрічається в складних реченнях. В таких реченнях в більшості випадків використовується форма Subjunctive II (форма, що утворюється за допомогою допоміжних дієслів) або ж Past Subjunctive (форма were від дієслова to be). 

Умовний спосіб часто використовується в умовних реченнях для вираження нереальної умови в підрядному реченні або ж нереального наслідку в головній частині складнопідрядного речення. 

Приклад:

We would be healthier if every cigarette factory in the world were closed. – Ми б були здоровішими, якщо б кожна цигаркова фабрика в світі була закрита. (умова в підрядному реченні)

Ex.1, p,147 - Read and complete the list with your ideas. Use the phrases in the box. Прочитай і доповни список своїми ідеями, користуйся фразами у табличці (письмово)

Перевір себе:

1. If we drove electric cars we would have less air pollution

2. If we used less paper we would create a cleaner planet.

3. If we created special parks for animals, we would teach hunters it's wrong to kill animals.

5) Ex.2, p.148 - Match the suggestions with the possible results. Then make conditional sentences as in the example. Склади речення за зразком (письмово).

Перевір себе:

1. If the cities had more trees, people would have more oxygen.

2. It the authorities improved public transport, people wouldn't buy too many cars.

3. If people used bicycles, the cities would be less polluted.

6) Homework

Ex.3, p.148  - напиши реченя типу: що б ти зробив, якби... (умови подані у рамці цієї вправи у підручнику

Перевір себе:

4. You can send and read messages with it.

Далі самостійно:

Ex.1, p.117 - Match the pictures (1-10) with the words (усно).

Ex.2a, p.118 - Look at the Word Map with verbs that are used before the word ‘a file’. (Поєднай слова зі словом файл. Переклади фрази, усно)

2) Reading

Ex.2b, p.118 - b) Complete the paragraph below with the words in the box and in the Word Map above.

Перевір себе та запиши речення у зошит: 

Files can be organised into folders, subfolders, directories, subdirectories. (Файли ми можемо розмістити у папки, підпапки, каталоги, підкаталоги). It is possible to create and save files and folders, to open them, close them, copy them or move them from one area to another. It is possible to delete or move files, so that they use less space.

3) Ex.3, p.118 - Match the words in the box with their definitions below. Then compare your answers with a partner (усно).
